New York Flatiron Building Ornaments

The famous 1902 skyscraper on 23rd Street and Fifth Avenue has been beautifully recreated as a Flatiron glass Christmas ornament. Triangular in shape like the real building, the back features an image of a girl with her skirt flying up into the air. This harkens back to the popular phrase "23 Skidoo" which cops used to tell ogling men in front of the building watching the girls walk by the windy intersection.

Using a centuries old process developed in Eastern Europe, the Flatiron Building is magnificently reproduced in these Christmas ornaments.

Each Flatiron Building ornament is constructed of molten glass hand-blown into a mold. Once the glass is shaped, it is then silvered. Silvering helps to create a reflective property and depth of color in the ornament. After the ornaments are dry, they are then decorated. Each of these ornaments is hand-painted. The painting process can take up to one week for a single New York City ornament. As they are individually hand-painted, you are guaranteed to receive a unique ornament, since no two will look exactly the same.

citysouvenirs.com is proud to offer you these Flatiron Building Christmas ornaments (some people mistakenly call it the Flat Iron Building), and we are sure they will be cherished in your family for generations.
